Notification regarding Ladakh UT-level Waste Management Policies (dated-20.12.2022)-UT. of Ladakh.

Terms of Reference:

• The policies shall be read in conjunction with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 and Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016
• The waste management policies shall act as the guiding principles for waste management in the respective jurisdictions and shall base the formulation of further rules and guidelines for waste management in the UT of Ladakh.
• The respective scope of work has been mentioned in the respective documents, however, similar policies, guidelines, strategies, and action plans may be formulated by other jurisdictions, based on these policies.
• It is further notified here that the Housing and Urban Development Department shall be the nodal department for Waste Management of the aforementioned policies and respective rules in line with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 and refer attachment for further details.
