- FSSAI hereby clarified that the products intended for animal feed of not fall under the definitions of “Food’ as defined section3 (1j) of FSS Act, 2006. Accordingly the commissioner of Food Safety of all States/UTs and Central Licensing authorities are hereby advised to direct the concerned Food Safety officers under their jurisdictions to desist from sampling of soyabean de-oiled cakes or soyabean meals intended for use in poultry and animal feed while drawing samples of the products in exercise of powers conferred upon them under Section-38 of the Act, refer attachment of further details.
