- The Second proviso to section 4(1) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) act, 1957 (hereinafter, the MMDR Act) has been amended through the MMDR Amendment Act, 2021 w.e.f 28.03.2021. the said amended provision empowers the Central Government to notify entries, including private entities that may undertake prospecting operations, subject to such terms and conditions as may be specified by the Central Government.
