- The Inland Revenue Department, vide a notice mandating all Betting Centres to have a confirmation certificate of registration from the Inland Revenue Department with effect from 1st February, 2024. In case of non-compliance, closure of betting centres by the Inspector General of Police will be made as per the amendments made by the Finance Act, No. 11 of 2022 to section 2 of the Betting and Gaming Levy Act, No. 40 of 1988.
