The Central Bank of Sri Lanka, vide a notification mandated that all mobile payment applications adopt additional safeguards to promote safer and more secure digital payment transactions. For Just Pay transactions of Rs. 10,000/- or more, the mobile payment application must request a One-Time Password (OTP) from the Issuer of the linked account. The OTP must be sent to the registered mobile number with the Issuer. These regulations will become effective from 01st April 2024. Please refer the notification for more details.
