– Previously FSSAI extended the time line for compliance to provisions related to labelling requirements up to 01st July, 2022.
– Various representation were received from various stake holders requesting to permit the use of either old or new names of pro-biotic strains for the product packaging as the taxonomy of several pro-biotic microorganism’s specified under Schedule VII of Regulations have been revised in line with global updating in their name.
– After due consideration FSSAI decided to allow the use of either old or new names of pro-biotic strains for the product packaging till further order, refer attachment further details.
